49-year-old Oklahoma man tells polcie he has a weird case for them then shows them where he shot his girlfriend

TULSA, OK – An Oklahoma man is facing a murder charge after authorities say he called 911, then confessed to shooting his girlfriend when officers arrived at his home.

Chad Weathers, 49, was arrested Sunday after Tulsa police discovered the body of his girlfriend, Tanya Anderson, dead from a gunshot wound inside his residence. The investigation began when Weathers called emergency dispatchers around 9:30 a.m., requesting police assistance but refusing to elaborate before abruptly ending the call.

Officers responded to the property shortly after. When they arrived, Weathers reportedly greeted them at the door with a peculiar statement: “I’ve got a weird one for you.” He then allegedly admitted to shooting Anderson the previous night.

Authorities entered the home and found Anderson’s body in the bedroom. A firearm was located nearby, and investigators believe it was used in the fatal incident.

Weathers was taken into custody at the scene without incident and booked into the Osage County Jail. He faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with Anderson’s death.

At this time, investigators have not disclosed a possible motive or any additional details about what led up to the shooting. Police are continuing to review evidence and interview witnesses as part of their ongoing inquiry.

Neighbors of the couple expressed shock at the events, saying there were no previous indications of violence between the two. No history of police involvement at the residence has been reported.

The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy on Anderson to further clarify the circumstances surrounding her death.

Weathers is being held without bond as the investigation continues. Court proceedings are expected to begin in the coming days.
