65-year-old Louisiana woman beaten to death and stuffed in trash can by son who injected her with meth

OPELOUSAS, LA – A Louisiana man is facing first-degree murder charges after reportedly admitting to injecting his mother with methamphetamine and fatally beating her, authorities said this week.

Opelousas police arrested Aaron Lloyd, 33, after questioning him about the death of his mother, 65-year-old Lisa Lloyd. Neighbors made the initial discovery on Sunday, finding Lisa Lloyd’s remains concealed inside a trash can outside her residence on Park Circle. Police responded to the scene after being contacted by residents alarmed by the grim discovery.

Investigators located Aaron Lloyd at a different address shortly afterward and brought him in for questioning. According to police, he was taken into custody without resistance and, during an interview, allegedly confessed to killing his mother and disposing of her body in the trash can.

Authorities said the victim’s body was found in a garbage bin situated under the carport of her home. Officers believe the incident occurred at the residence before the remains were hidden.

The investigation has revealed that Lisa Lloyd was injected with methamphetamine prior to suffering fatal injuries allegedly inflicted by her son. A motive for the violence has not been disclosed, and police say the inquiry is ongoing.

Aaron Lloyd now faces a string of charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance, and the illegal distribution of methamphetamine. He was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail, where he remains in custody. As of Tuesday afternoon, bail had not been set.

The incident has shaken the Opelousas community and left neighbors struggling to comprehend the tragedy. Local officials have called for support and prayers for the Lloyd family as they cope with their loss.

Police Chief Graig LeBlanc described the case as “deeply tragic,” emphasizing the profound impact the incident has had on both the family and local residents.
