ST. LOUIS, MO – A Missouri neighborhood is reeling after a brutal crime left an 81-year-old woman dead and her family shattered. Police say Fannie Allred, beloved matriarch and cancer survivor, was killed in her own home over the weekend, allegedly by her grandson—a tragedy that has stunned those closest to her.
Authorities responded Sunday to a home on Jenny Drive, where a grim discovery awaited. According to officials, Fannie Allred was found lying face down in a pool of blood, the result of multiple stab wounds to her head, neck, and chest. Her daughter made the harrowing 911 call after coming upon the shocking scene inside the family home.
Detectives revealed that Ronald Allred III, 37, faces charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and two counts of animal abuse. In addition to the stabbing, police discovered that Allred allegedly turned the knife on his grandmother’s two French bulldogs, both of which suffered serious injuries but are expected to survive.
Family members described Fannie as the lifeblood of her community—a fixture on her block for more than two decades. Just months earlier, she had celebrated overcoming stage 2 colon cancer, a testament to her resilience and spirit.
