PHILADELPHIA, PA – A Pennsylvania woman and her boyfriend are facing charges in connection to the death of her missing 4-year-old son, Damari Carter. Dominique Bailey, 28, is accused of murder, endangering the welfare of a child, false report, and abuse of a corpse, while her boyfriend, Kevin Spencer, 30, is also charged in connection to the boy’s death.
According to authorities, Damari was last seen on November 25, and despite efforts by his relatives to locate him, his body has not been found. Investigators believe that the child may have been fatally beaten, but no official cause of death has been announced. Bailey allegedly told her family that Damari had been struck and killed by a car, but no evidence of such an incident has been found.
Relatives of Damari expressed their grief and frustration at the situation, with his aunt, Nakia Bailey, stating, “What happened to him was senseless. I’m heartbroken. We still haven’t had peace. We don’t know where he is and it’s all because of my sister.”
In addition to Bailey’s charges, Spencer is also facing charges of murder, criminal conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, false report, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Damari’s father, Darryle Carter Jr., shared that he was informed of the alleged car accident between Christmas and New Year’s Day, but was unable to find any record of it with local medical examiner’s offices.
The case has left the family and authorities searching for answers and seeking justice for the young boy. Despite the arrests of Bailey and Spencer, the location of Damari’s body remains unknown. The investigation into his death continues as the community mourns the tragic loss of a young life.
