SEATTLE — A 52-year-old man has been charged with first-degree assault after allegedly attacking a woman in Volunteer Park in a violent, unprovoked incident last week. Authorities report that Eric Moody surrendered at the East Precinct, where he confessed to the attack and requested arrest.
The King County Prosecutor described the incident as “random and senseless” during a court appearance. According to Seattle Police, Moody approached the victim in the park while she was walking, striking her at least ten times on the head with a large stick.
