LAPORTE, Ind. — The mother of 4-year-old Judah Morgan, whose young tortured body was found dead in October 2021, has been sentenced to 42 years behind bars in the boy’s death, according to LaPorte County Prosecutor Sean Fagan. The sentencing, which took place on Friday, marked the conclusion of this tragic case.
Mary Yoder, the mother of the victim, was convicted after pleading guilty to felony counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in Judah’s death and domestic battery. The charges also applied to another child in the home, who was described as being just under 2 years of age at the time.
During the trial, evidence was presented of the deplorable living conditions in the home where Judah died. Video footage revealed the family’s horrendous treatment of both Judah and the other child in the home, according to Fagan.
