Community Mourns: Vigils Held for Victims of Glendale Concert Shooting

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A vigil drew a crowd of more than a hundred people on Tuesday night, as friends and family gathered to remember 21-year-old Milo Suniga, one of three victims killed in a mass shooting during a concert. The somber event took place outside El Camaron Gigante, the restaurant where the tragedy unfolded on Sunday evening.

Emotions ran high as loved ones embraced near a memorial set up for Suniga. He was remembered by friends for his unwavering loyalty and willingness to help those in need. Robert Mandell, a close friend, shared that they had planned a festive night at the concert, describing the atmosphere as joyful and familial.

“We were happy. We were having fun the whole night,” said Mandell. “I’m just glad our last moments together were filled with joy.”

The incident reportedly began with an argument that escalated into chaos, prompting several individuals to open fire. New footage acquired by investigators captures the frightening moments when the fight broke out, leading to the shooting.

Mandell revealed that Suniga attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation before becoming a victim himself. “There’s a lot running through my mind. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it,” he said, grappling with the weight of the night’s events.

In addition to Suniga, police identified two other victims: brothers Christopher Sproule, 21, and 17-year-old Damien Sproule. The investigation is still underway, and authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting.

The Glendale Police Department is urging witnesses to come forward, creating a digital portal where they can submit any photos or videos related to the event. This initiative is crucial for gathering evidence and ensuring community safety following the incident.

As the community mourns, it is clear that the impact of this tragic event will be felt for a long time. The memories of the victims linger in the hearts of those who knew them, as friends and family search for answers in the wake of a night that should have been a celebration.
