As a result of the explosion, one pupil, Zaidu Usman, lost his life, and about ten injured victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika. The governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, expressed shock and sadness upon receiving the report and extended his condolences to the victims and their families.
