Siaya, Kenya — A woman suspected of involvement in the murder of Wells Fargo HR Manager Willis Ayieko died on Wednesday following a police chase that ended in a vehicle crash. The suspect was hospitalized for injuries sustained during the incident but later succumbed to them.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Gem Wagai sub-county, where the incident occurred, also recovered a pistol that belonged to the deceased manager after engaging in a shootout with a male accomplice who managed to evade capture.

The tragic sequence of events unfolded after local witnesses reported suspicious activity involving two individuals, a man and a woman, seen in a Toyota Axio with registration KDN 948B at Wagai Trading Centre. As the chase extended towards Luanda, the suspects’ vehicle lost control and rolled over at Adder Farm in the Kagilo area. The male suspect fled on foot, leaving the injured female suspect in the vehicle. Police officers who searched the vehicle found the recovered firearm loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition.

Despite emergency responders rushing the woman to a nearby hospital in Yala, she did not survive her injuries. Meanwhile, the manhunt for her accomplice led detectives to a residence at Sagam Trading Centre in Kanyibwop village, which was believed to be rented by the fleeing suspect.
