In a distressing case that captured national attention, Deshaun was found starved and confined to a small, urine-soaked closet in his family’s home, leading to his death in 2020. An autopsy later confirmed starvation as the cause of death. The boy weighed a mere 18 pounds at the time of his passing.
Martinez and his wife, Elizabeth Archibeque, were both implicated in the heart-wrenching abuse of Deshaun and his elder brother.
