FREEPORT, FL – Authorities in Florida are investigating a violent incident that marred a weekend gathering, resulting in the arrest of a 21-year-old man and his mother, according to local law enforcement. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarming 911 call related to a stabbing that took place Saturday evening at a party in Freeport.
The call came just before 10 p.m. from the friends of the victim, who was being rushed to a local Freeport area hospital due to serious injuries sustained in the attack. Deputies intercepted the group at Grady Brown Park, allowing paramedics to continue the journey to the medical facility with the injured party.
Witnesses recounted to deputies that the chaos ensued at a party on the 100 block of Portland Park when the suspect, identified as John Byron Kingkade Jr., allegedly stabbed a minor multiple times in the head and neck using a knife. Kingkade was taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery and child abuse while further investigation unraveled a shocking twist involving his mother, Krystal Rabon Kingkade.
