Lakeside, California — Authorities have taken a man into custody following a violent incident on a freeway that left another individual with stab wounds. The confrontation occurred on Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The suspect, identified as Noah Kane, was driving a black 2024 Ford F-150 at approximately 6:15 p.m. when he allegedly forced a gray 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee onto the northbound shoulder of state Route 67, near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road. Troopers reported that both drivers exited their vehicles after the initial altercation.
During the exchange, Kane is accused of pulling out a knife and repeatedly attacking the other driver, striking the victim in the shoulder area. After the incident, Kane fled the scene in his pickup truck, leaving the injured driver behind.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after, transporting the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that, thankfully, were not life-threatening. The identity and age of the injured driver have not been disclosed, as officials work to gather more information.
Kane was apprehended by officers from the California Highway Patrol’s Border Division Major Crimes Unit in Poway around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. He was subsequently booked into the San Diego County Jail. Officials have not yet released details regarding his age.
