RICHMOND HILL, GA – A Georgia man is facing two decades behind bars for a violent plot that involved the destruction of a woman’s home with explosives and a chilling plan to harm her child. Stephen Glosser, 38, received his sentence after pleading guilty to charges including using explosives in a felony and stalking.
Chief Judge R. Stan Baker of the U.S. District Court handed down a 20-year federal prison term for each count, to be served concurrently, underscoring the severity of Glosser’s acts. The incident highlighted a shocking level of violence and malice, U.S. Attorney Tara M. Lyons announced, noting the absence of fatalities as little short of miraculous.
Stephen Glosser and his accomplice, Caleb Kinsey, are accused of concocting an elaborate, malicious scheme against a woman Glosser had briefly interacted with. According to court documents, their plans included a litany of violent acts, ranging from shooting arrows at her door to deploying a large python with the intent of attacking her child. Additional schemes involved sending abhorrent packages containing dog feces and dead rats.
In his guilty plea, Glosser admitted to these despicable intentions. Meanwhile, Kinsey awaits further legal proceedings for his alleged involvement in these terrifying plans.
The convoluted plot took root after Glosser and the woman connected via a dating app, a brief encounter that ended quickly. Following their fallout, Kinsey, a friend and roommate of Glosser, allegedly collaborated in advancing these vicious plans of retribution.
The sinister duo reportedly communicated extensively over their cell phones, crafting a plan aimed at intimidation and imminent harm. On January 13, 2023, they allegedly executed part of their scheme, detonating a homemade explosive at the victim’s residence in Richmond Hill, just south of Savannah.
The U.S. Department of Justice reported that Glosser identified the victim’s location with an image she had previously shared, leading to the destructive attack. He then attempted to erase traces of their crime by hiring a cleaning service to remove bomb residue from his home.
Fortunately, the intended targets, the woman and her daughter were able to escape the explosion, preserving their lives against all odds. Chris Hosey, Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, emphasized the significance of such cases as stark warnings against the usage of fear and threats, affirming that such criminals will indeed face justice.
As the judiciary processes Kinsey’s involvement, the community observes a reassertion of law enforcement’s commitment to sovereignty over terror-inflicted violence and stands in solidarity with the perpetrators’ survivors.
