Patna, Bihar – Police in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district are on the hunt for the father and brother of a woman accused of gunning down three members of her own family, including a one-year-old girl. The horrific crime took place on Tuesday afternoon in Navtolia village under Gopalpur police station.
Superintendent of Police Sushant Kumar Saroj confirmed that the victims were Chandan Kumar, 40, his wife Chandni Devi, 30, and their one-year-old daughter, Roshni Kumari. The suspects, identified as Chandni’s father and brother, fled the scene after committing the triple murder.
According to Saroj, the motive behind the attack stemmed from the family’s disapproval of Chandni’s marriage to Chandan in 2021. He stated that the suspects were never happy with the marriage and had been involved in frequent quarrels with the couple.
During the attack, Chandan sustained fractures on his hands after being brutally assaulted with an iron rod by Chandni’s father. Subsequently, Chandni’s brother arrived with a firearm and shot the couple, including their one-year-old daughter, who died instantly.
The police have formed a special team to apprehend the accused, and raids are currently underway as the community reels from the shocking crime. The suspects remain on the run as the investigation continues.
