GLEN ULLIN, North Dakota – Tyler Raines has been sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years probation for the shooting and killing of Mathew Ward in Glen Ullin in July of 2022. Raines had an argument with Ward over money, and he fired a shot into the ground before shooting Ward, who later died on the way to the hospital. Raines initially pleaded not guilty but later pleaded guilty to negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, and the discharge of a firearm in city limits in October 2023. He is currently credited with serving 88 days.
