SHREVEPORT, La. – Three teenagers lost their lives in a tragic high-speed crash involving a stolen vehicle on North Market Street in Shreveport. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 19-year-old Devion Patterson, 18-year-old Jamario Washington, and 17-year-old Zaleia Young. The three young individuals were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Autopsies have been ordered for all three victims, with investigations ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The fatal incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. on a Sunday when Caddo sheriff’s deputies responded to a major crash at North Market at McDaniel Drive, where they found a stolen 2005 Toyota Camry overturned.
In addition to the tragic loss of lives, the crash also resulted in injuries to four individuals, three of whom sustained serious injuries. The investigation revealed that the Camry was speeding south on North Market, went off the road, struck two curbs, and flipped after hitting a tree before landing upside down. Some occupants who were not restrained were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
