The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office has classified her death as a homicide and subsequently arrested her 71-year-old husband, Michel Fournier, on charges of second-degree murder.
Known affectionately by her friends as “Phoenix,” Lane-Fournier was reported missing after she failed to arrive at work on November 22. Concern grew the next day when her white Ford F-250 was located by a community member on East Salmon River Road, in proximity to the Green Canyon Way Trail—a known hiking spot she frequented with her two Malinois-mix dogs.
Authorities mobilized an extensive search effort involving over 20 volunteers and multiple Search and Rescue teams from Clackamas County. The operation persisted for several days amidst challenging conditions, including sub-freezing temperatures.
