Hyderabad, India — A tragic incident has unfolded in Madhuranagar, where a 38-year-old man was reportedly found dead in his bedroom, following an alleged dog bite in a sensitive area of his body. The victim, identified as Pavan Kumar, was discovered unresponsive by his roommate, P. Sandeep, after a period of concerning silence on Sunday.
Sandeep, who had been sleeping in the living room, grew worried when Pavan did not answer his calls. Knowing that Pavan had a history of breathing issues and had recently returned home after a hospital stay, Sandeep broke down the bedroom door to check on him. Inside, he found Pavan lying unconscious with severe injuries and bleeding profusely.
Authorities received a report and quickly arrived at the scene. According to Madhuranagar sub-inspector G. Shiva Shankar, the officers were met with a distressing sight. “Upon breaking open the door, we found the victim with significant injuries consistent with a dog attack. He exhibited no signs of life,” Shankar explained. The body was later transported to Gandhi Hospital for a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The dog involved in the incident has not been located, leaving uncertainty about its current condition. Pavan, originally from Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh, worked as a cashier at a private company. His roommate, Sandeep, who is a realtor, noted they had shared the apartment for about five years.
In a related incident, a four-year-old girl was viciously attacked by two stray dogs near Golden Heights Colony in Rajendranagar on January 31. CCTV footage revealed the alarming moment the dogs lunged at the child, inflicting serious injuries while she screamed for help.
The girl’s mother, alerted by her cries, swiftly intervened and pulled her to safety. Medical reports confirmed that the child suffered significant injuries to her legs, waist, and thighs, necessitating immediate treatment at a nearby hospital.
The incident has raised substantial public concern, with residents expressing outrage over what they perceive as a lack of action from local authorities regarding the growing stray dog problem. Community members are demanding better safety measures and a more aggressive approach to managing stray animals in residential neighborhoods.
