Man Identified in Fatal Shooting After Altercation with Two Women in Philadelphia’s Point Breeze

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – A man was fatally shot after an altercation with two women inside a corner store deli in Philadelphia’s Point Breeze neighborhood has been identified as 35-year-old Tyreece Jerry. Police are currently searching for the women involved in the incident.

Jerry was shot multiple times while inside the Federal Deli Market at the corner of 20th and Federal streets around 6:30 p.m. on Monday and was found on the ground outside the store. Despite being transported to Jefferson University Hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s father expressed the family’s heartbreaking loss, mentioning that Jerry leaves behind five young children. Authorities believe that the shooting stemmed from a dispute with the two women, resulting in the fatal incident.

Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department stated that one of the females pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at Jerry during the altercation. Following the shooting, the women fled in separate directions. Surveillance footage captured the suspects, with one being a frequently seen patron at the deli.

Descriptions of the suspects were provided, with one woman being between 23-25 years old and approximately five feet, two inches tall. The other suspect, believed to be in her late 20s, stands at five feet, nine inches tall. Both were seen wearing distinct clothing that may aid in their identification.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities appealing to the public for any information that could assist in apprehending the suspects. The corner store where the shooting occurred has since reopened, with precautionary measures in place.
