The assault occurred in the Market Place area of Coleford in the Forest of Dean on Saturday, drawing a major response from law enforcement.

On Sunday, in a related operation on the outskirts of Holmes Chapel, a 55-year-old man from Cheshire was detained under suspicion of wounding. The arrest followed a significant police operation that included officers from the Cheshire and North Wales Firearms Team. A local Goostrey resident reported that the police arrived in six cars, underscoring the scale of the law enforcement presence.
