LOS ANGELES (CNN) – An investigation is underway in Los Angeles after a gruesome discovery led to the arrest of a suspect in the murder of his wife, and the disappearance of his wife’s parents.
The case began when a woman’s torso was found in a dumpster, which ultimately led authorities to the home of the suspect, 35-year-old Samuel Haskell. The suspect’s wife, Mei Li Haskell, along with her parents, Gaoshan Li and Yanxiang Wang, are currently unaccounted for.
Investigators found blood evidence and other items inside the suspect’s home, which he shared with his wife, their three children, and his in-laws. While the children were located and are safe with family members, the whereabouts of Mei Li and her parents remain a concern.
Samuel Haskell, the son of an Emmy-winning producer and Hollywood agent, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is expected to appear in court. Meanwhile, authorities are also searching for two missing vehicles, a white Volkswagen Tiguan and a white 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, in connection with the case.
Despite the ongoing investigation and the identification of the torso still pending, it’s believed that the dismembered body part belongs to Mei Li Haskell. The suspect’s father, the senior Haskell, has not commented on the situation, and it’s unclear whether Samuel Haskell has legal representation at this time.
As the investigation continues, the focus remains on locating Mei Li Haskell and her parents, as well as uncovering new details to bring closure to this tragic case.
