Egg Harbor Township, N.J. — A 26-year-old woman is facing charges for allegedly orchestrating a violent assault against herself as part of a complex scheme. Authorities claim that Natalie Greene hired a body modification artist to inflict injuries, including deep cuts over her body, and then falsely reported the attack to law enforcement.
Prosecutors revealed that on July 23, Greene, along with an unnamed accomplice, staged the incident on a walking trail in Egg Harbor Township. After the alleged assault, she contacted police, stating that three armed men had attacked her. When officers arrived, they found Greene bound with zip ties, her shirt tied around her head, and with numerous lacerations on her face and body. Charred words, including “Trump whore,” were noted on her midsection, alongside a message on her back claiming that a federal official she worked for was “racist.”
While the federal official’s identity was not disclosed by the prosecution, it was later confirmed that Greene was employed by New Jersey Republican Rep. Jefferson Van Drew. This connection raised further questions regarding the motives behind the allegedly staged attack.
According to a criminal complaint, Greene’s accomplice stated during a 911 call that they heard the supposed assailants refer to Greene by name and engage in political discussions, suggesting a targeted attack. The accomplice also expressed fear, claiming to have managed to escape while observing that the attackers remained focused on Greene.
Days following the attack, authorities learned from Greene that one of her attackers had threatened her with a firearm. However, subsequent investigations uncovered a different story. Instead of being the victim of a violent crime, Greene reportedly conspired with a body modification artist to create her injuries as part of a detailed design she had conceived.
Moreover, police discovered zip ties in Greene’s vehicle that matched those used in the staged scene. Investigative findings revealed that her accomplice had searched online for “zip ties near me” just two days before the incident, raising further suspicion about the premeditated nature of the attack.
Greene now faces serious charges, including conspiracy and making false reports to law enforcement, which could result in up to a decade in prison and significant fines if she is convicted. The case highlights the troubling combination of personal motives and alleged criminal activity, leaving many to question what led to such extreme actions. Authorities continue to investigate the details surrounding this unusual incident.
