Plantation Man Arrested and Charged in Brutal Murder of Wife and Toddler

Plantation, Florida – A tragic incident unfolded in Plantation, Florida, where a man has been arrested and charged with the murders of his wife and toddler following an apparent drug overdose.

Jean Carlos Aponte, 40, faced charges after the bodies of his wife, Sara Ashley Gama, 38, and their 2-year-old son, Ethan Aponte, were discovered inside their Plantation home. The arrest report revealed that Aponte allegedly stabbed his son four times and his wife 28 times, with both victims showing defensive wounds to their hands. Ethan’s cause of death was attributed to sharp force injury and drowning, while Sara succumbed to sharp force injury.

The heartbreaking scene was discovered after authorities conducted a welfare check at the residence, finding Ethan floating face-down in the pool and Sara on the kitchen floor.
