WALSALL, England — Authorities are actively searching for a man linked to a violent gang attack that resulted in the imprisonment of eight individuals for a total of nearly 120 years. The assault, characterized by extreme brutality, took place on July 31 of last year on Reedswood Lane, leaving several victims with severe injuries.
The group engaged in a series of ambushes against the occupants of a vehicle, utilizing a variety of weapons such as machetes, knives, and bats. The attack escalated when shots were fired at close range, causing life-threatening injuries to the five people inside the target vehicle. These individuals managed to drive themselves to Walsall Manor Hospital shortly after the incident.
Among those sentenced is Amar Shazhad, 37, who received a 17-year prison term. Similarly, Hezar Iyaiz, 20, also received a 17-year sentence, while Mohammed Sajid and Kamran Moore, both 38 and 22, respectively, were handed 16-year sentences. Other members, including Shazad Mahmood, 34, and Khurum Sajad, 23, faced comparable penalties. In total, the group has been ordered to serve 118 years behind bars.
Additionally, Waheed Ayub, 28, was sentenced to 17 years, and Umar Saddique, 29, received a two-year term for aiding an offender. As the case unfolded, law enforcement revealed they are still seeking Amar Khan, aged 40, known to have fled prior to the arrests of his accomplices.
Detective Inspector Francis Nock, who led the investigation, emphasized the seriousness of the crime. He urged the public for help in locating Khan, stressing that anyone who spots him should immediately contact the authorities without attempting to confront him directly. Nock described the attack as a shocking episode of violence that the community should not tolerate.
The victims in this case suffered from severe injuries that required extensive medical treatment, with one individual temporarily placed in an induced coma. Nock noted that such levels of violence represent a grave threat to community safety and that law enforcement will continue to pursue those involved.
The West Midlands Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring public safety, delivering a clear message that violent behavior and the use of weapons will not be accepted in their streets. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek justice for the victims of this heinous crime.
