Police Searching for Missing Body of 4-Year-Old After Mother and Boyfriend Charged in Murder

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The search for a missing 4-year-old boy continues after his mother and her boyfriend were charged in connection with his murder. Dominique Bailey, 28, and Kevin Spencer, 30, are facing multiple charges related to the death of Damari Carter, whose body has not yet been found.

The investigation began on Dec. 30, 2023, when the Special Victims Unit received a report of a missing child in West Philadelphia. Bailey initially claimed that her son had been struck and killed by a car, but investigators found no evidence to support her story.

Four days later, Bailey confessed to being involved in her son’s death during police questioning. Spencer, who is believed to be Bailey’s boyfriend, was arrested during a search of a home and also faces charges in connection with the murder.

Meanwhile, the child’s father, Darryle Carter, revealed that he had not been in contact with his son since his birthday in November of the previous year. Carter expressed difficulty in coming to terms with the situation and not having the financial means to travel to Philadelphia from Texas.

The family remains on edge as they fear that the boy may have been a victim of abuse. They are urging anyone with information about Damari Carter’s whereabouts to contact the Philadelphia police.

The young boy’s disappearance and the shocking circumstances surrounding it have left the family and community reeling, as they desperately seek closure and justice for Damari.
