Hull, England — A violent street robbery has led to a substantial prison sentence for a man previously known for his aggressive behavior. Nathan High, 33, was sentenced to four years in prison after a brutal attack left his victim incapacitated on the ground. The incident, which occurred on July 29, involved repeated punches and kicks, resulting in serious injuries.
High, who was living off Albert Avenue, was identified through surveillance footage from the scene. Prosecutors presented evidence that showed the victim engaging in a confrontation with High before the assault escalated. Eyewitnesses reported a quick exchange of blows, although later footage indicated that High was the primary aggressor.
The altercation left the victim with significant injuries, including a lost tooth and deep cuts to his lip and nose. After the assault, High stole the man’s mobile phone and £40 in cash before leaving the victim motionless on the street. Sources indicate that the victim sought medical assistance shortly after the attack, though he struggled to recall many details due to the severity of his injuries.
During the court proceedings, High faced charges of robbery but denied wounding with intent; that charge was subsequently dropped. The court was told that High had an extensive history of violence, having previously been convicted of 27 offenses, including assault and possession of a weapon. His criminal record includes a one-year suspended sentence for grievous bodily harm in 2014 and a short jail term for possessing a blade in 2017.

She noted that he had been in custody since his appearance in court on August 2.
