Aurora, Illinois – Tragedy struck at a local restaurant over the weekend, resulting in multiple fatalities, including the shooter. The incident occurred Saturday evening at the Two Brothers Roundhouse, where a gathering turned chaotic when shots rang out.
Authorities reported that emergency services were alerted shortly after 9 p.m. to a shooting inside the establishment. Inside, they discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, a woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to Mercy Hospital, while a 33-year-old man was left in critical condition and remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit. The shooter was confirmed dead at the scene.
The Kane County Coroner identified the victims as 24-year-old Jazmine Barclay from Aurora and 43-year-old Bryan Heineman from Naperville. Initial investigations revealed a relationship between the two. Witnesses suggest that Heineman accessed the restaurant to confront Barclay and the man who was with her, apparently after tracking their location on social media.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that moments after Heineman approached the couple, he opened fire, hitting both before turning the weapon on himself. Fortunately, no bystanders were injured during the incident, although panic ensued among those present. A firearm was located near Heineman following the shooting.
The tragic event unfolded while the band Beyond the Blonde performed, quickly turning a joyful atmosphere into one of sheer terror. Singer Charity Benevelli described the abrupt shift in mood, stating it was disconcerting to go from a lively crowd to one filled with fear in an instant.
In light of the traumatic event, the Aurora Police Department is providing resources for those affected, encouraging them to reach out to their Crisis Intervention Unit for support. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police have urged anyone with relevant information to contact the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division.
As this story continues to develop, the community is left to grapple with the aftermath of violence in what was intended to be a festive evening.
