CINCINNATI, Ohio – More than two months have passed since the tragic death of 11-year-old Domonic Davis, who was shot and killed on November 3, 2023. Davis was one of six individuals, including four children, who were injured when someone in a dark sedan fired 22 shots into a crowd near Laurel Playground in the West End. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as the Davis family, have both issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Davis’s father, Issac Davis, expressed his dismay at the lack of leads in the case, emphasizing that his son was an innocent victim. Reminders of the tragedy still stand at the scene of the shooting, and Davis keeps his son’s memory alive by wearing a shirt adorned with Domonic’s image.
Christmas Eve would have marked Domonic’s 12th birthday, adding to the grief and loss felt by his family. Although Issac has tried to stay occupied with work and lean on his family for support, he continues to grapple with unanswered questions about the senseless act that took his son’s life.
Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with Domonic’s murder. She cited concerns about potential retaliation as a factor hindering witnesses from coming forward. In the midst of his grief, Issac is determined to advocate for justice for his son, and he is also in the early stages of creating a nonprofit organization called “Forever 11” in honor of Domonic, with a focus on guiding young people towards a positive path.
Issac’s plea for justice is echoed by the wider community, as the investigation by CPD’s Homicide Unit continues. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit or the ATF. Dominic’s tragic death has left a profound impact on the Cincinnati community, and the quest for justice for Domonic Davis remains ongoing.
