Road Rage Erupts in Hulimavu: Driver Assaulted with Metal Chain After Minor Collision

BENGALURU, India — A troubling episode of road rage unfolded in the south part of the city when a cab driver became the target of an assault after a minor traffic incident involving two women. The confrontation escalated quickly on the bustling Hulimavu-Devarachikkanahalli Main Road, alarming passersby and local residents alike.

Authorities reported that the driver, identified as Ahmed, was on duty and en route to pick up a passenger when the incident occurred. The two women, residents of the neighborhoods of J.P. Nagar and Koramangala, were riding a two-wheeler and allegedly brushed against Ahmed’s cab, causing minimal damage.

In the aftermath of the collision, Ahmed stopped to ask the women for compensation for the damages. Rather than cooperating, the women reportedly attempted to escape, prompting Ahmed to intervene and seize their motorcycle key to prevent their departure. This action ignited a violent response from the women.

Witnesses described a shocking scene as one of the women wrapped a metal chain around her hand and repeatedly struck Ahmed, targeting his face and upper body. Local onlookers sprang into action, intervening to restrain the assailants and provide immediate assistance to the injured driver.

Following the chaotic incident, Ahmed reported the attack to the Hulimavu Police Station, where he submitted a formal complaint detailing the assault. Law enforcement officials have since registered a First Information Report (FIR) and have commenced an investigation into the events.
