Score One For Twitter Community Notes Debunks Biden’s Attempt To Take Credit For The Job Market

President Joe Biden continues to lie about the employment “created” by his administration. Still, Twitter users will continue to fact-check him on one of the administration’s most significant lies.

Friday evening, Biden’s official presidential account tweeted a misleading image promoting his alleged job-creation campaign.

“This happens when you invest in America,” he tweeted.

Biden went on to say that they still have more work to do, but they had made genuine progress.

Many people on Twitter disagreed, adding that it may have been the pandemic and lockdowns that led to their implementation.

A community note, a feature introduced to Twitter by Elon Musk that allows other users to fact-check inaccurate posts, was added to the added to Biden’s tweet to provide additional context: It states recovery from the COVID-19 virus is responsible for Biden’s record job creation, not the efforts of the current president. Jobs were created consistently between 2010 and 2020 (under Obama and Trump), followed by a steep decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which occurred under Trump.

Collin Rugg, whose Twitter bio identifies him as co-owner of the conservative website Trending Politics, characterized Biden’s remark as “very misleading.” The United States was quarantined for COVID in March 2020. He wrote that unemployment skyrocketed, and many people lost their livelihoods. When Biden took office, lockdowns were ending, and everyone received their employment back.

Indeed, the data indicate that the nation’s employment levels have scarcely recovered to 2019’s highest levels. Others remarked on the deceptive nature of the graph Biden posted:

The tweet merited all the criticism it received. In recent memory, no other president or politician has been so deceptive about his history of job creation. After the Democrats aided in the destruction of the economy, all that was required of Joe Biden was a swift return to normalcy.

This mission should not have been challenging. Literally, all that was required was a return to the status quo ante. Instead, Biden has performed poorly in this regard, producing numerous discouraging employment reports and mediocre economic growth.

Despite rampant inflation, a looming recession, and a weakening labor market, Biden wants to brag about the wonderful jobs his administration created!

The Biden administration has distinguished itself if for nothing else than its willingness to lie to the American people. Friday’s tweet about “job creation” is the most recent and one of the most prominent examples.

This community note is just the beginning of the challenges the president will face as he attempts to create a false image of his record, hoping that American voters will not believe their deceptive eyes.
