Shreveport, Louisiana — A teenager has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the Werner Park neighborhood. Authorities have yet to identify the shooter involved in the incident.
Fifteen-year-old Kevin R. Ester was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning at Ochsner LSU Health, shortly after the shooting took place around 8:20 p.m. in the 3100 block of Parkhurst Street, located just west of the Calumet facility on Jewella Avenue. Chris Bordelon, a spokesperson for the Shreveport Police Department, indicated that an arrest might be forthcoming within the next day or so.
Investigators report that at least two groups were involved in the gunfire, which has complicated efforts to determine the source of the fatal shots. “We’re working diligently to ascertain whose bullet was responsible,” Bordelon stated.
