DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (AP) — Two people were discovered shot to death inside a residence in west suburban Downers Grove Tuesday night, authorities said.
Police responded to a home in the 6400-block of Fairview Avenue around 10:02 p.m. after receiving reports of a man with a gun inside the residence and the sound of a gunshot.
Upon entering the home, officers found a man and a woman dead with apparent gunshot wounds. Downers Grove police stated that a verbal and physical altercation occurred between the husband and wife who resided in the home. According to preliminary investigations, the husband retrieved a firearm and fatally shot his wife.
The man was identified as 42-year-old Dongwei Su, and the woman was identified as 42-year-old Yakun Sui. Authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
