AUSTIN, Texas – A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged with capital murder after his parents, a retired Texas judge and his wife, were found dead in their home. Seth B. Carnes was taken into custody late Monday evening in Georgetown, Texas, following a report of a shooting near the residence of retired District Judge Alfred “Burt” Carnes and his wife Susan, both 74.
According to a press release from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Seth Carnes was exiting the residence when authorities arrived and disclosed that he had shot and killed his parents. Deputies found the bodies of Alfred and Susan with fatal gunshot wounds inside the home. It was determined that a disagreement between Seth and his parents led to the tragic incident, but further details were not provided.
