Panaji, India – The murder of the young son of the CEO of a start-up seems to be premeditated, as police have uncovered key evidence suggesting foul play in their investigation.
The Goa police found empty bottles of cough syrup in a room where the CEO allegedly killed her four-year-old son, raising suspicions that she may have given him a lethal dose of the medicine, officials said. The postmortem revealed that the child was smothered to death, indicating that the murder was premeditated.
The accused woman, Suchana Seth, allegedly killed her son in the apartment in Goa and then transported the body to a neighboring state in a taxi. She was arrested in Karnataka and brought back to Goa to face the charges of her son’s murder.
During the inspection of the apartment, police found two empty bottles of cough syrup, and investigations have raised the possibility that the child may have been given a heavy dose of the cough syrup before being murdered. Suchana Seth, who checked into the apartment on January 6, has been remanded in police custody for six days following her arrest.
The child’s father, Venkat Raman, who was in Indonesia at the time, took possession of his son’s body after postmortem. The CEO of ‘The Mindful AI Lab’, Seth, has denied her involvement in the crime and claimed that the child was already dead when she woke up.
