VAN BUREN, Ark. — A 19-year-old man is facing charges of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a local resident found lifeless near a roadway in Van Buren, as authorities announced on Monday. Anthony Lee Tabor, who was earlier apprehended on allegations of theft, is now accused of the more grave crime following the discovery of the victim’s body over the weekend.
Officials were alerted and dispatched to the intersection of South 40th Street and Kingsberry Drive shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, where they found the body of 34-year-old Michael James O’Malley. An initial investigation confirmed O’Malley had suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest.
