Tesla Seized in Connection with Teen Murder Outside Clovis McDonald’s: Investigators Pursue Leads

Clovis, California — Authorities in Clovis have confiscated a Tesla believed to be linked to the murder of 18-year-old Caleb Quick, who was fatally shot outside a McDonald’s last month. The police executed a search warrant at a residence approximately one mile from the scene of the crime.

On Tuesday morning, investigators were seen entering the home, where they took a young woman into custody. After searching the property, they uncovered a 2024 white Tesla in the garage, which was subsequently towed for further examination. The woman was later released after about 40 minutes in custody, accompanied by legal representation.

Caleb Quick was shot in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant located at Willow and Nees avenues. Footage from surveillance cameras captured a suspect inside the McDonald’s shortly before the incident. Following the shooting, authorities believe the assailant fled west across busy traffic into Fresno, where a white Tesla was reportedly waiting.

Clovis Police Chief Curt Fleming indicated that the identification of the vehicle as a newer model was helped by specific branding features. According to Fleming, the car’s design change, including the spelling of “Tesla” on the back rather than the logo, assists in its categorization as a 2024 model or newer.

As the investigation continues, Valley Crime Stoppers reported a surge of tips from the community, indicating a strong desire for justice following the crime. Erica Magarian, the executive director of the organization, expressed that residents are eager to see law enforcement address the tragedy and hold those responsible accountable.
