Tragedy Strikes Spartanburg: Three Arrested in Connection with 17-Year-Old’s Fatal Shooting

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy at his home last month. The suspects were taken into custody following a thorough investigation by the Spartanburg Police Department, which utilized tips from the community and collaborative efforts from witnesses.

The suspects include 17-year-old Arienna Selena Jackson and 18-year-old Henry Lewis Jackson Jr., both from Taylors, along with 27-year-old Kenton Lakeem Byrd from Duncan. All have been charged with murder, with Henry Jackson also facing charges related to illegal possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They are currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center, and a bond hearing is scheduled for October 21 at 2 p.m.

The victim, identified as Zi’on Jordon, was shot in the early hours of September 20 while sitting in the living room of his residence on Amherst Drive. Police arrived shortly after 12:50 a.m. following reports of gunfire. When they entered the home, they found Jordon unresponsive in the kitchen, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators revealed that the shots had originated from the front yard, shattering a bay window before striking Jordon.
