PETERBOROUGH, N.H. – A cold case from 1989 involving the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old at a gas station in Peterborough remains unsolved. Craig Lane was working at the Texaco Station on Route 202 when he was killed in what appeared to be a robbery. On Jan. 8, 1989, the gas station was robbed around 5:30 p.m. and Lane was fatally stabbed during the incident. Witnesses reported seeing a white man fleeing the scene.
The suspect was believed to be in his teens to early 20s at the time of the robbery and would be in his late 40s to early 50s today. Described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a slim-to-medium build, the suspect had brown, medium-length hair and was reportedly wearing a red jacket with a blue stripe in the chest area, blue jeans, and a dark baseball cap.
