Old Wadarwadi, India — A late-night dispute over the noise from a motorcycle escalated into a violent confrontation that left a family severely injured. On Sunday night, a group of four men forcefully entered a home, attacking a young man and his parents with sharp weapons.
The Chatushrungi Police reported that the incident occurred around 9:30 PM, triggered when Ritesh, the 20-year-old son of Dattatray Sandeyya Ghogallu, revved his bike after it stalled at a nearby gas station. The loud sounds provoked four local residents—25-year-old Prathamesh Chavan, 18-year-old Ranveer Kamble, and two others both aged 25—who allegedly hurled insults at Ritesh while he attempted to restart his vehicle.
Feeling threatened, Ritesh fled to his home, but the group pursued him inside. Upon entering, they launched a brutal attack on him. Ritesh’s mother, Suvarna, intervened in a bid to protect her son when Chavan reportedly brandished a metal weapon, posing a grave danger to her safety.
As Ritesh attempted to shield his mother, he became a target himself. Dattatray Ghogallu, Ritesh’s father, tried to defend his family but was quickly overwhelmed. Witnesses reported that the group engaged in a fierce assault, with Chavan striking Dattatray with a weapon, leaving him with serious injuries.
Neighbors Prashant Joshi and Rahul Joshi, alerted by the disturbance, rushed to assist the family but faced backlash from the assailants as well. The chaotic scene underscored the dangers that can arise from seemingly minor disputes.
In the aftermath, Dattatray managed to escape the violence and promptly contacted law enforcement. Officers from Chatushrungi Police swiftly apprehended all four suspects, and the ongoing investigation is being led by Constable Reddy.
The incident raises broader concerns about escalating violence in community interactions. Residents have expressed their shock over the brutality of the attack, calling for increased measures to ensure safety and resolve conflicts peacefully. As the investigation unfolds, community members hope for swift justice and a return to tranquility in their neighborhood.
