41-year-old Miami woman stabs boyfriend after she finds out he’s sleeping with her sister

MIAMI, FL – A Miami man is recovering from serious injuries after authorities say he was stabbed multiple times during a late-night altercation sparked by a personal dispute. The alleged attack, which occurred just after midnight on April 28, 2025, left the victim with several stab wounds and injuries, shedding light on the dangers of domestic violence.

Emergency responders arrived at an apartment complex in the 300 block of NW 177th Street after multiple residents reported what they believed were gunshots coming from one of the first-floor units. Upon arrival, officers noticed blood on the front door, signaling that something violent had unfolded inside.

Finding no answer at the door despite their repeated knocks, police acted swiftly under what they described as urgent circumstances, forcing their way into the home. Inside, they encountered a disturbing scene: pools of blood staining the floor. The victim, whose name has not been released, was found suffering from cuts and scrapes, the aftermath of what authorities described as a physical fight.

According to police documents, the man recounted how the confrontation began when his child’s mother, Jaqueline Rodriguez, learned he was having an intimate relationship with her sister. The man stated the argument escalated rapidly, culminating with Rodriguez allegedly grabbing a knife and attacking him. He described the assault as both unexpected and unwarranted.

Despite his injuries, the victim declined to provide a sworn statement to authorities. Police nonetheless documented his wounds with photographs to aid their investigation. Officers determined that Rodriguez intended to cause severe harm, citing the nature and gravity of the wounds inflicted.

Rodriguez, 41, was taken into custody shortly after officers entered the apartment. She faces a charge of aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm, and is currently being held by Miami-Dade Corrections without bond.

Further investigation revealed that Rodriguez has additional charges pending. Authorities allege she participated in a burglary and grand theft incident, during which $14,000 worth of property was stolen from a vehicle following a car crash roughly three months prior to the stabbing.

Although the victim did not wish to file an official complaint, the evidence collected at the scene led officers to proceed with the arrest and subsequent charges. The case highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in responding to domestic violence situations, particularly when victims are hesitant to cooperate fully due to fear or emotional distress.

No further information has been released regarding the victim’s current condition as he recovers from the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the full scope of events leading to the violent encounter.
