ANCHORAGE, AK – A man from Anchorage received a lengthy prison sentence after a harrowing crime shocked the community. Armando Velador-Padilla, 50, will serve 60 years with a decade suspended following his conviction for the brutal slaying of his 22-year-old daughter, Darla Velador, and her pet dog.
The violent incident, which took place on April 23, 2021, left a significant impact on the local community.
Velador-Padilla was reportedly suffering from auditory hallucinations that convinced him his daughter was possessed. In response to these delusions, he repeatedly stabbed both Darla and her dog, Max. Days later, an Anchorage grand jury indicted him.
