Animal Abuse: Davis, 45, Faces Charges After Deputies Rescue Five Emaciated Dogs

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A 45-year-old Bexar County man was taken into custody after authorities discovered malnourished dogs in his care in the Far West Side area.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding malnourished dogs at the man’s residence in the 13000 block of Tramonto Hill on January 4. Deputies found the conditions at the residence to be deplorable, with a strong odor of animal feces and ammonia both inside and outside the house.

According to a Facebook post from the agency, five dogs were found on the property and appeared severely underfed. The owner, Whitney Davis, 45, surrendered the dogs, and they were taken to an animal hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Davis was arrested for cruelty to nonlivestock animals and transported to the Bexar County Jail. He posted a $4,000 bail and is awaiting arraignment on February 6.

The sheriff’s office emphasized the importance of reporting any instances of animal neglect, stating that cases of animal cruelty can be linked to other crimes and urging the public to help put a stop to the mistreatment of animals.
