Arkansas State Police Pursuit Ends with Robbery Suspect Dead After Self-Inflicted Gunshot

Forrest City, Arkansas – A high-speed pursuit on Interstate 40 ended with one robbery suspect in custody and the other dead from a self-inflicted gunshot, Arkansas State Police reported.

The chase began on Sunday evening when Forrest City police notified state police about two robbery suspects. The pursuit on I-40 east reached speeds above 100 mph before Forrest City police lost sight of the vehicle. State police managed to briefly stop the vehicle, but the suspects fled and were eventually stopped near Arkansas Highway 193 with the use of stop sticks.

The passenger in the vehicle was apprehended without incident, but the driver, identified as 19-year-old Dillion J. Scrivner of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was found by a child in a parked vehicle at a home. Scrivner fled on foot and was later found in a nearby field with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at a hospital at 10:21 p.m.

An autopsy will be conducted at the Arkansas State Crime Lab, and ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is handling the case.
