Arlington PD Hunts Two Men as Murder Suspects in Valentine’s Day Killing

ARLINGTON, Texas – It has been over a year since the tragic murder of Ali Ismail on Valentine’s Day. Ismail, a father of six, was killed in a senseless act of violence outside his home in Arlington. Despite the efforts of the police, the perpetrators have yet to be identified.

Surveillance video captured two men attempting to break into cars in the area just minutes before Ismail was fatally shot. The police believe these individuals are responsible for the crime, but a year later, they remain unidentified.

Arlington police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the identification of the two young males seen in the surveillance footage. Despite the lack of leads, the authorities remain hopeful that someone in the community has vital information that could assist in solving the case.

One year after the tragedy, the police are still heavily reliant on the grainy surveillance footage for any potential leads. The video shows two young men pulling on door handles on Prentice Street just before the fatal incident. Ismail, who had just finished working a night shift, was met with immediate gunfire as he pulled into his driveway.

The investigation has been further complicated by a series of unfortunate circumstances, including a heavy rainstorm overnight, which hindered the collection of crucial evidence such as fingerprints. In addition, the lack of cameras capturing the suspects’ departure has made it challenging for the authorities to make significant progress in the case.

Despite offering a $10,000 reward for information, the police have yet to receive substantial leads. Mustafa Yassin, a friend of Ismail, has been advocating for the family and urging anyone with information to come forward. He emphasized the impact of the tragedy on Ismail’s widow, who has been living in fear while raising their six children.

The enduring lack of closure has taken a significant toll on the family, with Ismail’s widow enduring a miscarriage due to the stress and trauma following her husband’s murder. Despite these hardships, the family and their community continue to appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the identification of the suspects.

Arlington Police Lieutenant Alex Rosado expressed the plea for the public’s help in obtaining crucial leads, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in solving the case. The authorities remain committed to pursuing all possible leads and comparing ballistics from the crime to other incidents in the city in the hopes of finding breakthrough evidence to bring justice to Ali Ismail’s family.
