EASLEY, S.C. — Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred at a residence over the weekend, leading to the arrest of a suspect. The Pickens County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 41-year-old Crystal Lynn Pace.
Sheriff’s deputies reported responding to a call just before 8:30 a.m. on Saturday regarding a stabbing incident at a home on Oakwood Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Pace deceased from multiple stab wounds. The community was shaken by the news, as law enforcement officials characterized the incident as isolated, posing no ongoing threat to local residents.
Brandon Wayne Hopkins, 35, has been apprehended in connection to the case. He faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Currently, Hopkins is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center without the possibility of bail.
The investigation has seen collaboration between multiple agencies, including the Easley Police Department, the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is also involved, ensuring a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
