Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of Woman in New Britain Residence

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – A 44-year-old woman was found dead in a North Street apartment on Saturday night, with police arresting a suspect in connection to the shooting. Two other individuals were also injured in the incident. The suspect, Antoine Harris, 44, has been taken into custody and is facing charges related to the shooting.

According to authorities, the deceased victim has been identified as Sabrina Finch, also 44 years old. Harris has been charged with murder, two counts of first-degree assault, criminal use of a weapon, and criminal possession of a pistol. He is currently being held on $1.8 million bond and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

New Britain Deputy Police Chief Adam Rembisz revealed that the shooter had a “dating relationship” with the woman and had been living at the residence. After the shooting, the shooter fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two other gunshot victims are in stable condition after being treated at a local hospital.

Rembisz emphasized that the shooting was not a random act of violence and that there is no known danger to the public. State police and the state attorney’s office are working in conjunction with local officers to investigate the incident.

Additionally, Harris has a history with the law, having pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and with a drug conviction on his record in the 1990s, according to the state judicial website and media reports.
