Arrested: Murder Suspect Caught by MCSO and Phenix City Police After Intensive Search

Phenix City, Alabama – The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced the arrest of a man wanted for murder and other felonies on Wednesday. Gerald Simpson was apprehended by the sheriff’s office special operations unit, with assistance from the Phenix City Police Department (PCPD) and U.S. Marshals Services.

Simpson, who was wanted by CPD for murder and by PCPD for armed robbery, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Russell County Jail. His extradition back to Georgia is pending.

The charges against Simpson include felony murder and felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime by CPD, as well as felony armed robbery by PCPD.
