Assault at East Lake Village: 18-Year-Old Arrested for Brutal Attack on Security Guard in Upscale Orange County Community

Yorba Linda, California – An 18-year-old high school student was taken into custody by authorities in connection with a violent attack on a security guard in an upscale community in Orange County. Aidan Grogan was arrested at Yorba Linda High School on Thursday at noon, as confirmed by officials from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The incident took place at East Lake Village in Yorba Linda around 9 p.m. on March 3. The security guard was assaulted in the parking lot after asking the suspects to leave for fishing after dark, as reported in a private social media group.

Witnesses revealed that the attack on the security guard was severe, causing him to be rendered unconscious with at least one of the assailants displaying some form of training. The suspects, described as males aged between 16-17, one with shaggy blonde hair, and another filming the assault on his cellphone. Concerns were raised by residents of the community regarding the lack of communication from management about the incident.

Efforts to gather more information from the community’s general manager were met with minimal details, indicating that the incident had been reported to authorities and the guard is expected to recover. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the alleged assault, reported two days after the incident on March 6. The 18-year-old was booked at the Orange County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon; however, it remains unknown if any additional arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
