Assault Warning: Dangerous Man Strikes 2 Women in Venice Beach

Los Angeles, California – Police in Venice Beach are issuing a warning to the community regarding a dangerous suspect who violently assaulted two women in separate incidents. The attacks took place on April 6, with both victims sustaining significant injuries. Authorities believe that the same suspect is responsible for both assaults.

The first assault occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Strongs Drive near the Grand Canal. A female victim was struck in the head from behind, rendering her unconscious. An hour later, the same suspect targeted a second woman near the Sherman Canal in a similar manner.

Residents in the area discovered the second victim and promptly contacted the police. Detectives from the LAPD’s Pacific Patrol Division responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the assaults.

Councilwoman Park, in response to the incidents, has proposed the implementation of a real-time “watch center” in Venice to address the lack of police presence in the area. She highlighted the need for improved law enforcement resources in light of the rising violent crime rates.

The suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic male with medium to dark skin, standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. Police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals.

As the LAPD intensifies efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect, additional patrols will be conducted in the Venice community. Anyone with information on the suspect or potential witnesses is encouraged to contact LAPD’s Special Assault Detectives or L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers anonymously.

The presence of bloodstains at the scene serves as a grim reminder of the violence that has occurred in the area, prompting concerns among residents about their safety in Los Angeles. The need for effective law enforcement measures and support from the community is paramount in addressing such incidents and ensuring the well-being of residents in the neighborhood.
