Assaulted Teen Pleads ‘Help me Mum, I am going to die’ – Sheffield Man Sentenced to Two Years and Two Months

Sheffield, United Kingdom – A mother received a distressing phone call from her teenage daughter, pleading for help after being brutally assaulted by a man armed with a metal pole. The incident took place on July 3, 2023, when two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, were attacked on Washington Road by 21-year-old Cheyenne Sirvent.

Sirvent, displaying a terrifying level of aggression, swung his weapon at the girls outside his property, causing serious facial injuries to both victims. The 16-year-old victim suffered such severe injuries that she required surgery and was knocked unconscious. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old victim also endured facial injuries and was chased down the street by Sirvent.

After gaining consciousness, the 16-year-old victim frantically called her mother for help, and with the assistance of a friend and a passing motorist, they managed to call the police and ambulance. Around the same time, Sirvent, in fear of retaliation, called for help to protect himself from what he perceived to be armed men approaching his house. This delayed the arrival of emergency responders to the scene.

Responding officers and dog handlers arrived at the chaotic scene to find Sirvent in possession of a kitchen knife. He was eventually detained by officers and disclosed the location of the weapon he used in the assault.

Following a thorough investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Sirvent was charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding. He later pleaded guilty to two counts of Section 20 Grievous Bodily Harm, as well as possession of a bladed article and an offensive weapon.

Ultimately, Sirvent was sentenced to two years and two months in prison by the Sheffield Crown Court. Detective Constable Ashleigh Doggett, the investigating officer, expressed contentment with the outcome of the case, emphasizing the long-term impact of the brutal attack on the young victims and the commitment to tackling violence against women and girls in all its forms.
